Balmain 2013

I can't quite decide what I think of this collection. I've always loved Balmain's play on formal pieces quite intriguing. Unusual shaped blazers and dresses, cropped fitted pants and super skinnies with a different approach to 'dressy' and 'chic'. Florals and geometry are a key theme here; themes which don't always appeal to me first. However its this collaboration that is somehow inspiring me to use geometry as side project for a new collection because as you can see it clearly can work...

Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer Pre Collection 2013

This is an incredible collection. The prints are so sophisticated, I love how they speak for themselves with little use of colour throughout the collection. Plenty of beautiful lazer cut details, embellishments and lace trimmings. Yet the statement leather Jacket still works in here. Its the intricate and delicate details that amaze me most in collections. This is one of them.
