where have you been?

I've found myself a little lost recently, particularly in the past year or so but I won't go into detail. I feel disappointed that I haven't blogged in so long, especially because I've wasted enough material which I would have loved to share with you. Posting a couple of recent photos of myself will get the ball rolling again, I'm sure. Thanks to all of you who have followed my blog despite much absence, it means a lot.

My degree has finally come to an end and what a relief it is! Although I am going to miss it very much. I've had an amazing experience.... but its time to get my head down into something real, its going to be hard work for me but its all very exciting and new.

I thought it was time to get blogging again seen as I have disappeared for a good few months now, but now I'm back so I just want to say Thanks to all of you who follow and support my blog, it is much appreciated.

I've been looking at some of the collections from Graduate fashion week in the last few days. Some of which I am absolutely amazed by. Some of pieces produced are beautiful. I'm always fascinated by the meaning or narrative behind a collection especially when the concept is expressed clearly throughout.







“ALTOGETHER I HAVE A CERTAIN CONTEMPT AND ADMIRATION FOR THE CHADOR. IT IS THE DOUBLE MORAL, WHICH I HOPED TO BE ABLE TO TRANSLATE IN MY COLLECTION, THE GAME OF DENIAL DISUNION. IN MY EYES A CHADOR IS STANDING FOR REJECTION OF SEXUALITY BUT I ALSO THINK IT HAS A VERY STRONG SEXUAL APPEARANCE, A CERTAIN SECRETLY SEXUALITY.”
DURING THE DESIGN PROCESS SHAGHAYEGH HAD A NEW WOMAN IN MIND, ONE THAT IS STRONG AND FRAGILE AT THE SAME TIME. THE LEATHER PIECES PROVIDE AN ASPECT OF STRENGTH AND SECURITY WHILST THE CHIFFON PIECES ATTACHED TO THE LEATHER ACT AS A DISGUISE SIMILAR TO THE CHADOR. THE TIGHT SKIN COLOUR DRESSES REFLECTING SEXUALITY.

Its monday morning meaning, a fresh start to a hard working week. We'll see.... I started designing some digital prints for my current collection this morning. I haven't shared anything on my blog for a while so here it is, my progress so far.
